DOKKEN
Jeff Pilson joined the classic Dokken line-up in 1983
as bassist, keyboards and backing vocals. The group
consisted of Don Dokken on lead vocals, Mick Brown
on drums and George Lynch guitar. The band
released Tooth and Nail in 1984, Under Lock And Key
in 1985, Back For The Attack in 1987 , which features
the song Dream Warriors, co-written by Jeff Pilson
and featured in the film Nightmare On Elm Street 3
and recently in the Netflix TV series Riverdale. Beast
From The East was released in 1988, which received
a Grammy nomination.
In 1991 the classic line-up disbanded and Jeff
continued on other projects, joining Robin McCauley
with McAuley Schenker Group for their studio album
MSG and a tour.
He also formed his own progressive rock band
named War & Peace with the first album named Time
Capsule, released in 1993. In 1993, Jeff joined DIO as
bassist on the Strange Highways album and a tour.
In 1994 Dokken re-united the classic line-up, soon
afterwards Dysfunctional was released. In 1997,
following release of Shadowlife, George Lynch was
replaced by Europe guitarist John Norum who joined
the group for a tour. Lynch continued to form the
band Lynch Mob. Reb Beach (Winger) joined as
guitarist and featured on the album Erase The Slate
as well as Live From The Sun. In the time following
Live From The Sun, Jeff Pilson left Dokken.
More albums with Dio and War&Peace were released.
Lynch joined Pilson in 2003 to release Wicked
Underground, the album was re-issued in 2020 with a
bonus track ‘On Top Of The World’
In 2016 the classic line-up re-united. Due to each
member having other commitments, the re-union
consisted of a show in the United States and several
in Japan. They released the live album Return To The
East - Live with a CD and DVD including a brand new
track with a music video for ‘Just Another Day’.
Dokken continues with the current line-up as Jon
Levin on lead guitar, Chris McCarvill on bass and Bill
"BJ" Zampa on drums. George Lynch currently joins
Dokken at selective shows for some tracks.
